Fastek to host small business cybersecurity workshop

On Wed., Sep. 4, 2024, technology industry leaders, cybersecurity experts, and law enforcement professionals fighting white-collar cybercrime will lead workshop discussions for small business leaders at the Owensboro Convention Center in downtown Owensboro, KY.
Featured presenters include David Powell, vice president of Pax8, Colin Glover, cybersecurity coordinator for Kentucky from the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Dr. Cheryl Purdy, digital forensic examiner/analyst at Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, and Andrea Robinson, executive director at OASIS Women’s Shelter. Other keynotes include experts in bank fraud, cyber liability insurance, and technical security solutions.
Doors open at 11 a.m., and a catered lunch will be provided. The program begins at noon and concludes with a panel discussion and Q&A at 4 p.m.
The workshop will cover critical topics such as the easy ways hackers can access data, the unintentional risks posed by staff, industry-specific reasons why hackers target certain data, and simple steps businesses can take to reduce their risk significantly.
